Drontal Tablets for Cats are broad-spectrum deworming tablets for treating common intestinal roundworms and tapeworms in cats.
The scored, film-coated tablet can be given directly by mouth or hidden in a small amount of food. Always weigh your cat before treatment to ensure the correct dose.
What Does Drontal Treat?
Drontal Cat treats gastrointestinal worms, including:
- Roundworm: Toxocara cati
- Roundworm: Toxascaris leonina
- Flea tapeworm: Dipylidium caninum
- Taenia tapeworm: Taenia taeniaeformis
Because fleas can transmit Dipylidium caninum, suitable flea control is also important to reduce tapeworm reinfection.
Active Ingredients per Tablet
- Praziquantel: 20 mg
- Pyrantel embonate: 230 mg
Praziquantel acts against tapeworms, while pyrantel embonate targets common intestinal roundworms.
Drontal Cat Dosage
Give orally as a single treatment at the recommended rate of one tablet per 4 kg body weight.

No. Drontal treats susceptible worms present at the time of treatment. Cats can become reinfected, particularly through fleas, hunting or contaminated environments.
Can I give one tablet to every cat?
No. Dosage depends on body weight. One complete tablet is intended for a cat weighing over 2 kg and up to 4 kg. Weigh the cat before treatment.
Important: Use this dosage only if your package states 20 mg praziquantel and 230 mg pyrantel embonate per tablet. Other countries sell different Drontal formulations and strengths.
