Mopsion Spot On for Cats 4–8 kg
Mopsion Spot-On for Cats (4–8 kg) is a once-a-month spot-on solution containing imidacloprid and moxidectin, made by Ringpu. One 0.8 mL tube is the dose printed on the pack for a cat weighing over 4 kg and up to 8 kg.
What the pack says it is for
Prevention and treatment of internal and external parasitic infestations in cats:
- Prevention and treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis)
- Treatment of ear mite infestations (Otodectes cynotis)
- Treatment of gastrointestinal roundworm and hookworm infestations (Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma tubaeforme)
- Prevention of heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis)
- It can also help in the treatment of allergic dermatitis caused by fleas
Tick control is not listed on the pack, so do not use Mopsion as a tick treatment.
Dose and how to apply
The label dose is 0.1 mL per 1 kg of body weight, applied once a month. To stop the cat licking it off, apply only to the skin on the back of the cat’s head and neck. Part the fur so the skin is visible, place the tube against the skin and squeeze out the whole tube. Keep other pets from licking the area until it is dry. Never put it inside the ear.

Fleas, ear mites and heartworm: what the pack explains
- Fleas: a single dose can prevent re-infestation for 4 weeks. Flea pupae already in the home can hatch within 6 weeks or longer, so the pack advises treating the environment as well.
- Ear mites: 30 days after a single dose, ask a veterinarian to examine the cat and decide whether a second dose is needed.
- Heartworm prevention: in areas where heartworm occurs, the pack says it can be used once a month all year, or from one month before the mosquito season until one month after it ends, best on the same day each month.

- For external use on cats only. Never use a dog product on a cat.
- Use the tube that matches your cat’s current weight.
- Avoid the eyes, mouth and inner ears, and wash your hands after applying.
- Ask a veterinarian before treating very young kittens, pregnant, nursing, sick or underweight cats.
